#1 Welcome!

Now is the time for bravery, kindness and way too much coffee. We here at The Coffee Roost, LLC will take turns writing our thoughts, recipes, observations and general bonhomie to the general edification of us all. In other words, we're gonna stay busy and stay connected to y'all. We are a group of folks with favorite songs and hobbies, and we will offer up suggestions along with our well wishes.

At the shop, we are available to come out to your car and bring your coffee drinks. You can also come in and order and then take out - we will keep the number in the shop low according to the good governor's guidelines.  We are on Facebook, even offering a weekly recipe since so many of us are staying home and cooking more. As an introduction, let me tell you something about the fine people in this picture.

The Barista supreme at the left is Tim. You can call him Barista X in an alternate universe. He hates being interviewed, so I will tell you that he has a keen sense of humor, and is quite a good cook. He is an accomplished drummer and he organizes our Cars and Coffee events. His favorite drink is ever-changing - Tim can't be held down by my requests for specificity. But he's really nice. He is fond of the band Slift and their album UMMON. The small chick in the center (and your writer today) is the owner, Peg Cwiakala. Her favorite drink is a couple of ristretto shots with a little steamed milk. She likes blues music and musicians like David Bromberg. See, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e8dxZPOCYs. Her book, Gunder's Cure is available on Amazon (Kindle edition).

The gentleman at the far right is Dr. Martin Cwiakala, a teacher, and engineer. Occasionally way too funny, he is the husband of the owner. His favorite drink is an Iced London Fog. He said I didn't need to interview him for this column since I know him the best. He wrote a couple of fine programming books and is currently working on a math strategy book. Martin recommends Florence and the Machine's song, 'Dog Days are Over' for a little musical inspiration. See, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sszAVSx4Wwo.   He likes audiobooks and recommends An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth: What Going to Space Taught Me About Ingenuity, Determination, and Being Prepared for Anything. By Chris Hadfield See, https://www.amazon.com/Astronauts-Guide-Life-Earth-Determination/dp/0316253030

The crew sends their positive energy to our readers during this time of uncertainty. Thanks for reading, and look for a new post soon!

Cheers,
Peg
