#2 Tim here...

Hello out there!
Tim here at the writing helm today.

So, quite randomly, I happened upon an article stating a particular coffee trend has become quite popular and videos of it being made are being posted by the thousands.  The drink in question was first popularized in South Korea and is known as Dalgona coffee.  The name draws reference to a particular type of toffee with a batter-like consistency.  The basis of this drink consists of only 3 ingredients in equal parts; instant coffee, sugar, and boiling water.  The 3 ingredients are put together and mixed via hand mixer, whisk, or blender until a thick whip is created.  The coffee whip mixture is then generally poured over your milk of choice and ice.  While simple in overall taste, the experience of getting the hot whipped coffee and cold milk at varying intervals is quite the experience.  All of us here at the shop enjoyed this drink immensely.  If you happen to know us though, you know we couldn't stop there...

Since the coffee whip mixture and milk are very different in density, the coffee whip mixture stays buoyant on top and remains its own layer for quite some time.  We looked at this and saw the potential of having different flavors for the individual layers.  One of the first ideas we had was to create the drink equivalent of Neapolitan ice cream.  We added strawberry syrup to half & half and ice as the bottom layer, a shot of chocolate concentrate to the coffee whip mixture as the middle layer, and a nice big dollop of vanilla whipped cream to top it off.  We found this drink makes a great visual statement and tastes just as good as it looks!  Take a look for yourself!
